GAIN is developing a sustainable strategy for its long-term future. As we move to becoming an enterprise in our own right, we can move beyond the core outputs agreed for our grant funding. Sectors under consideration for the GAIN enterprise include landscaping, general building works, home improvements, administration and finance, information technology, hospitality and caring services.

Tomorrow’s People (a charitable trust), has been contracted to support the operational element of the project and are also developing the new enterprise.

The project currently receives grant funding, but could consider introducing an appropriate charging regime for its job brokerage services or tender for public sector contracts to deliver services. Commercial activity could run in parallel with grant funding to enable the business to become an independent enterprise.

GAIN provides both routes into work for clients coming onto the project and local services to the public and private sector. Within each of the sectors highlighted, there is the opportunity for GAIN to develop saleable services that utilise the skills of beneficiaries, and generate income to support the wider enterprise.
